Make sure that your list of text is in Tools>Options>Calc>SortLists Data>Sort... [Options] Custom order <your list> A defined database range (Data>Define...) will remember all the options for sorting and filtering.
Number formatting applies to numbers. "Mon" is a text of 3 characters.
