Hi :) +1 except that MS Office is available for Mac but just because it's available doesn't mean it's installed on every machine.
I agree that we should be welcoming people in instead of giving them abuse and also think we should be helping them deal with people that have not yet been able to install LibreOffice/OpenOffice, Lotus Symphony, Calligra/KOffice, google-docs or any of the other choices that use the ODF format well. Also, it was not stated how the file was obtained or created. I use Linux and often must open a MSO file so accurate file conversion is always a potential, nagging issue. Also, unstated but implied is whether a Windows/MSO machine is even available. Mac users may also be in the same position, no MSO installed or available and they have a file they need/want to open that is in a MSO format. Stop assuming the user has access to MSO, many do not. And many are sent or must download files in MSO formats because others are too lazy/stupid to provide alternate formats. -- Jay Lozier [email protected] -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: [email protected] Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: [email protected] Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
