Thanks for your reply. You're probably a more recent user and did not know this toolbar from the time of OpenOffice. The idea is not to create links, but to facilitate internet searches for documents from within LO.
Another user recommended me GoldenDict, excellent program. The basic idea is the same as the Hyperlink toolbar: easy searching.
