You might try using Synaptic to remove then reinstall or sudo apt-get remove <libreoffice>. I am not sure of the exact name(s) you need to use for apt so I tend to use Synaptic.

What OS?  Sounds like a Linux one, but it needs to be told.   If Linux,
what was your install method?

Have you tried to reinstall LO 3.5.5?

Which language and help packs?
