I had the exact same problem a few days ago (only using Win XP) and was
able to resolve it, by renaming the folder:
C:\Program Files\LibreOffice 3.6\share\extensions
(to whatever you like; in my case "old-extensions")
restart LO -> TWICE
As V Stuart noted, there is a possibility that your System is set
(default?) to "hide system files".
In that case the above mentioned folder will not show upon search and
you should follow V Stuarts instructions to change the View settings.
Also, in one of the responses to my questions it was said, that this bug
has been fixed in 3.6.1 ...
