I running Libo 3.5.7 (English US version) on XP/SP3
GUI: English
Default Western language: English
Default Asian language: Japanese
Language packages are installed for English, German, Dutch and Japanese
I am writing documents in English, Japanese, German and Dutch
All I am doing is start typing in one of the languages and then: tool>language> here I select:
Selection, Paragraph, For all text. It seems that LibO even recognizes the languages, nevertheless I
have to make the selection.

Hallo everyone.
Question concerns a localized version of Writer.
When I start a new document a default language is set to the paragraph. Its name is displayed on
a status bar.
Quite often however, I need to write documents in foreign language. Now, if I want to set the
other language, I need to scroll down the whole list of all available options each time. It would
be much more convenient to see the other language name right away (beside a default one). Is
there any way to set its name permanently on the list?
I noticed that this can be achieved if the user interface language is different then a default
language for documents (but it's not exactly what I want).
Thank you very much for any help. Kind regards,
gordom
Is this a Windows Install? The "all of the other options" seem to say this.
If it was a Windows install, you could have done a "custom" install and choose only the languages
[needed to be done in several places] you want to use. Then the list of languages would be smaller.
May we know what the "defaultlanguage" is and what "foreign language[s]" you are using? Also what
version of LibreOffice and OS are you using? Is sounds like you are using Windows, but it may
notbe that.
