Hi,

I have the same problem. 

OS: MacOSX
LibreOffice: Version 4.0.1.2  

With old versions or other spreadsheet software a html table inside an xls with
correct MIME-Type is rendered nicely (MIME-Type of my file is
application/vnd.ms-excel).
