Hi :) Blimey! Doesn't Win8 have a menu listing "All programs"? If it does then LibreOffice should be inside that.
Sorry i haven't used Windows 8 much yet. Another way is to find an Odt or Ods (or something) document and open that. Hopefully it then might allow you to "pin" LibreOffice to somewhere you can reach. Hopefully you get 2 copies of this email and 1 of them has a small document i was just working on.
