Depends whether you use the Modern GUI (tiles) or the Windows 7 style desktop.
If you use the tiles, then the installation of LO should have created tiles. 
These will probably be on the far right of the Start screen - just scroll 
across until you get to the end.
The other option is just to type "Writer" in the Start screen.
