I would like to use several symbols in LO. I use autocorrect a lot, like /^ would do North-East arrow, and \v South-East arrow. Unfortunately, I can only choose the "Segoe UI" font in autocorrect "insert symbol" right-click menu, and SE arrow does not exist in it.
There is a workaround for this. Place the required symbol in a text (Writer) document - in an appropriate font - and select it. Now go to Tools | AutoCorrect Options... | Replace, and you will find that the required character has already been entered in the With: field. Continue as expected.
Also, this SE arrow shows weirdly in some fonts (I use Times New Roman), sometime disappearing (leaving an ugly square), sometimes shrinking. Is this a known bug ?
Not all characters exist in all fonts. If you change to a font in which the character does not appear, there will be nothing to display.
Is there any workaround ?
Yes: use a font in which the character exists. I trust this helps.
