Second impressions regarding page numbering bug I reported earlier that the changing page number bug 72452 has been solved with the Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: be4035d00f37c492494fa7860955b6d0868c7f77) that I installed.
Having used the new version quite a bit over the past few days I suspect, however, that there may be more to this bug than meets the eye. Twice I have encountered a situation where whatever page I am working on suddenly becomes page number zero, with all subsequent pages renumbered. Unlike what previously happened, though, when I close and re-open Writer, the correct page numbers are restored (with version 4.2, the unwanted page number changes remained and needed to be manually repaired). Once I determined that the changes were transient, I stopped worrying, and this is a definite improvement, but something is still going on that I thought should be reported. Another thing I've noticed with the 4.3 alpha is that when I open a document, it doesn't return to where I left off, but always to the beginning of the document. Is this because I still have the 4.2 version installed in parallel, or is this some new bug/feature or whatever? On the plus side, the Ctrl+F command now opens the find dialog with the cursor properly placed inside the dialog - thanks for fixing that annoyance.
