Five and a half years ago, I had a question, two actually, about side notes and footnotes.
The question on footnotes was this: can footnotes be placed in two columns when the text is in a single column? Then side notes: Is there a workable option to have side notes rather than (or in addition to) footnotes? A good soul by name of Andrew came up with using fields, but it appeared to be time-consuming to add them. There were also discussions about frames and tables, but as a non-techie I got lost in some of the details. In the intervening period, I thought perhaps there might have been some progress on these questions in LO development. And maybe I've learned a bit as well. Thanks, Randal -- J.
