I sent this response yesterday, but it doesn't seem to have made it
through to the list... apologies if it ends up duplicated.

I just had problems downloading the latest version of LiberOffice to a Windows
7 machine and donating to The Document Foundation.
DOWNLOAD PROBLEMS: I was unable to get a download to work using Internet
Explorer 11.0. I went to libreoffice.org and clicked on “Download Now”, then
“Download version 4.3.5”. Nothing happened. I somehow found links to allow me
to download “LibreOffice_4.3.5_Win_x86.msi.meta4”. However, my installation of
Windows 7 did not know what to do with meta4. I also found other mirrors, but
I couldn’t get them to work, either. I was able to install SeaMonkey and
download LO with that and install that version. I’m running BitDefender
antivirus, but I would have thought that if that were the problem, it might
have blocked me on SeaMonkey as well. ???
Internet Explorer seems to change the extension of executable files,
presumably as a security measure to prevent you from accidentally
running downloads from links you've been tricked into clicking. IE9
wants to save the download as LibreOffice_4.3.5_Win_x86.man. I think you
should be able to just change the extension to .msi and it should then
work. There's probably not much that LibreOffice can do about that
behaviour of Internet Explorer...
PROBLEMS DONATING: I tried to “Donate via Credit Card”. This seemed to do 2
things:
1. It referred me to ConCardis, which said, “Sorry, no payment
method is active. 1” I could not get past that.
I can confirm I see the same thing using both Internet Explorer 9 and
Mozilla SeaMonkey 2.26.1, on Windows Vista. I've reported on the bug
tracker:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87565
2. Concurrently, I got a separate window, which I assume came from
LO, for “AdStorm”.
I didn't get any popups on either browser I tried. It could have been
from ConCardis' website rather than LibreOffice, though the distinction
probably wouldn't be obvious. Can't really say not having seen them myself.
*** Bottom line: I got ads I did not want (and wasted my time) AND I
was not able to donate with the time and energy I had for that. (I’ve donated
many times before without these problems.
Anyway, LO is a great product. I use it routinely. I update often,
and I usually donate when I update. On this occasion, I was blocked for
reasons I do not understand.
NOTE: I do NOT personally need a solution to this problem. I’m reporting it
in case others might have similar difficulties.
That's probably more than a lot of other people would do on finding they
couldn't make a voluntary donation, so thanks for reporting! As
mentioned above, I've put this on the bug tracker so hopefully it will
be brought to the attention of someone able to do something about it.

Thanks,
