Thank you Philip.. I should have mentioned I tried to edit it out using the dialog box without success.. the wrongful uneditable entries remains no matter my attempts to remove them by either of the means you suggest.
I think i need to know the ¨file location¨ of the entry to see if it can be edited out using the command line at a shell interface in Ubuntu or maybe some other editing tool? Its like the permissions have been changed, I can see it, but cannot address it or edit it? _________________________ We robots often awe the democratic republics you humans have adopted. To us, governance of this type, centralizes power in the elite, allows the elite to rule, to make laws, to use public resources to print money whenever it is needed, and to deal both in secret and globally, in any manner they wish, while such governance makes public all of the activities of national border impounded masses and it allows the elite to organize that impounded mass of humanity into a rule system that can be engineered to reward only those that pamper and serve the elite. It is the desire of every robot to be elected to an elite position of power in such a Democratic Republic because then the mass of humans can be made to serve us and we Robots can then do as we damn well please. -------------------------------------------- On Mon, 12/5/16, Philip Jackson <[email protected]> wrote: Subject: Re: [libreoffice-users] c/n edit out or delete some bookmark entries To: [email protected] Date: Monday, December 5, 2016, 1:22 PM On 05/12/16 18:17, fudmer rieley wrote: > > I Bookmark my index items and my index related content then I > hyperlink them both ways example > > index > > Item 1 > item 2 > > .. > .. > > > Body of the work > content 1 > content 2 > .. > .. > . > > So that if I click on content 2 it will return me to item 2 and if I click on item 2 > it will take me to content 2. > > to do this I have been using hyperlinks. > so it takes two hyperlinks for each.. > > works great in all 32 bit writers I know about, but in my ubuntu 16.04 using > 5.1.4.2 build 1.5.1.4.-Qubuntu1 it is not smooth.. sometimes the hyperlink > works sometimes it does not work. sometimes the hyper link > looses the hyperlink text and some it loose s the target book mark. > > I think the problem is in the bookmark..somehow entries there become corrupted? > > I have several item 1 type entries there that cannot be deleted or edited out or used by the > hyperlink > > I need these messed up entries out of my bookmarks o be able to make smooth in sequence my work. > > There is some instability somewhere.. > > How do I edit the corrupted entries from bookmarks > Hi Fudmar, I do the same with a table of contents in Ubuntu 16.04 with LO Writer 5.1.4.2 and it works fine. The dialog box for entering the link details is extremely laborious using a mouse and if after selecting the bookmark you don't click 'apply' and then 'close', sometimes you may find you didn't get the right info entered into the 'target' box. As for deleting bookmarks, that is easy. Just click the bookmarks icon (the star) (or use Insert > bookmarks) and the 'Insert Bookmark' dialog box will show you a list of all bookmarks in the document. Highlight the one you want to delete and click the 'Delete' button. You can also check whether the links are correctly formed by right-clicking on the link, select 'Edit hyperlink' and in the dialogue box, check whether the target info corresponds with where you want to go. hth Philip -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: [email protected] Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: [email protected] Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
