To follow up with the last email.

Recently I added KDE to my Linux desktop (had been using Gnome) and with
that the file manage switched to Dolphin.  Dolphin out of the box had
nothing setup for the usual directory links, but it was easy enough to add
them one time and after that the save dialog picks all of those up. So
after a couple minutes what I had when ran under Gnome is also there under
KDE.
