Internal links within a document will remain the same for anybody who received
the pdf.
Good morning and sorry for the late reply.
Probably I did not / do not understand how this works.
1. Inserted+named a bookmark
2. Inserted a hyperlink (see next paragraph) pointing to the bookmark. Works
fine in the odt file.
Initially I specificed the name of the file I was working on under "Document ->
Path". This resulted in errors in the PDF file telling me Windows cannot find that file.
Then I tried to leave the field blank. There was no error any more, but the
link did not work either.
I also tried to specify the file name only, without path, because the above
mentioned errors complained about the path.
Next I tried (it was already late in the night, so I did not really dive into
the subject) using cross references
for which I referred to the documentation. I get something that looks like a
link - but does not work in the PDF.
Is there maybe a little checkbox that needs to be checked or unchecked during
the export?
Is there anything else I could try?

Hi: Below I specify my procedure for inserting an internal hyperlink in a
document. The example covers making a link from a table of illustrations to a
particular illustration in the same document. I hope that this is a similar
case to what you are trying to do.
First, I find the illustration, Figure 1, within the document, on page 4 in
this case. Then I select a word in the description of Figure 1, click the 'Make
Bookmark' icon in the toolbar and make that a bookmark which I name as
'Figure1'.
Then I go to the table of illustrations which indicates that Figure 1 is on
page 4. I highlight 'page 4' and click the hyperlink icon.
This opens a hyperlink dialogue box. For a reason I don't know, the path is
filled in with the name of another document - this must be some historical
artifact and it is completely unwanted so I delete it. I click the 'document'
icon in the left hand column. then click the button (unnamed in my LO) at the
right hand end of the 'Target in Document' line.' This opens another dialog box
where I select my bookmark 'Figure1' as the target, click 'Apply' and then
'Close'.
Then I click 'Apply' and 'Close' in the Hyperlink box and that's the job done.
The link can be tested in the document using Ctrl+click before export to pdf.
For export to pdf, I use File > export as > export as pdf. I never touch the
link settings. The general has nothing ticked, and the cross document links just says
default.
The link in the resulting pdf works on a simple click.
Note that in this case, the target is contained within the document and there
is no external reference. The link is entirely internal and the illustrations
have been embedded rather than being linked from another directory.
