Does that not give you what you want? I'm afraid not. I've discovvered what's going on though thanks to your help. What that gives me is the same as I had before, a vertical line with a few scattered dots. But thanks to your confirmation that my process was correct, I guessed that it must be the data that was wrong. So after inspecting the data and correcting a few errors, I finally have a graph that looks sensible.
