After much prevaricating from me, and advice from Dave Love, please find attached the couple of programs we've been using to interpret what the scheduler is thinking (I'm sure many of you have already written your own version).

My users have had it for a while now and they seem to be much happier being able to get feedback about when their jobs will run... even if the scheduler subsequently changes its mind. It would be really nice if this functionality could eventually be incorporated into qstat.

qsched has prompted surprisingly few questions where my answer has ultimately been "because it's a bug in the scheduler", although I have noticed it reveal a number of strange behaviours by GE.

Dave has kindly agreed to stick it into the Son of Grid Engine repository, at https://arc.liv.ac.uk/trac/SGE
