matching set of symptoms.
When I run qrsh -verbose hostname, I get
[cas@ca1-4 ~]$ qrsh -verbose hostname
Your job 10407 ("hostname") has been submitted
waiting for interactive job to be scheduled ...
Your interactive job 10407 has been successfully scheduled.
As I watch qstat -f, I see the hostname command running on one of the nodes.
But no output from the hostname command (or /bin/hostname).
