That didn't travel well from the midst of the Peak District.  I meant if
you use ssh (or rsh) for the communication, you can wrap it to set up
ssh forwarding of the chosen port (I think -- I've not done it).

[In case anyone wonders, it's a random port because SGE needs to be able
to start multiple instances of the communication daemon program under
its control; I'm not sure if that's spelt out anywhere.]

How do people typically run more loosely-coupled systems, like desktops,
under SGE, though?
