Thanks Chris!
I also found another file in the backup, in
/opt/grigengine/default/common/
folder called 'reporting' (~20 MB). This file
is also not yet present in the above location
after the rebuild.
So, in summary:
0. Turn off sgemaster.FRONTEND
/etc/init.d/sgemaster.FRONTEND stop
1. Restore 'accounting' and 'reporting' to
/opt/grigengine/default/common/
with appropriate ownership and permission
2. Change the value of 'jobseqnum' in
/opt/gridengine/default/spool/qmaster/
to the last value found in 'accounting'
(or 'reporting')
3. Turn on sgemaster.FRONTEND
/etc/init.d/sgemaster.FRONTEND start
Please correct me if I missed something.
Best,
g

| I'm not near an SGE install but there is one other file you need to worry
| about. It's a text file that contains a simple integer value for the "next"
| SGE job ID.
|
| The file is called "jobseqnum" and it's found spool/qmaster/jobseqnum
|
| You don't have to restore it from backup, just find the current file in your
| system and edit it appropriately while SGE is not running.
