The install script copies tcsh to qtcsh into the final installable package. So
you don't need to worry about not getting qtcsh.

Oh no, sorry, I was too hasty: adding “-lcurses” to
“gcc –o tcsh - … -DPROG_NAME=”qtcsh” …. –lcrypt”
of course produced just “tcsh”, not “qtcsh”. Now, can I rename it to qtcsh, or
what’s about qtcsh?

Have you tried adding -lcurses or -lncurses to your compile string?
