The following capability would really help me out, but the available
documentation I've found is tough sledding.
I want to have a resource on a host that can be turned on and off
dynamically. Basically I have scripts that I will submit to SGE, each
directed to a particular host on the cluster.
The script will put a server into execution. When that happens I want to
tell the qmaster that a boolean resource is now available on that host
(i.e. "true"). That server may run for
hours, days, or weeks. When I shut it down via a script submitted to SGE,
the script should notify qmaster that the resource is no longer available
on that host. I see how to manually create
a custom boolean resource via qmon...and I willing to define the resource
manually; however, I want to have the state of the resource changed via a
call from my "kickoff" or
"shutdown" script. If this is possible then I can submit clients with a
requirement for that resource and the qmaster will find a host running that
server. Is this possible?
