Hi Pete, This is Ron who checked in the Mac OS X SGE port into the original project CVS*. I don't spend time on OS X anymore, so there may be changes happened there that I missed.
For (1), you will need to modify at least aimk and arch For (2), you will need to use the Java SDK (Oracle's JDK) instead of Apple's JDK, or just compile with -no-java -no-jni to skip all the Java dependencies. For (3), if you correctly modified arch in step (1), then you should have very little problem during installation. Rayson offered pre-compiled binaries for AIX, Solaris (SPARC & x64), and OS X for Open Grid Scheduler/Grid Engine 2011.11 patch 1.
