We had already looked at the differences between 'xset q' ran on my account and
on a working users account.

The only difference was that under Keyboard Control my account had a 00000002
rather than all zeros like the other users account.

Output from 'xset q' on my account:

In this case it is not a grid engine problem, but more of a X window problem.

Just google search X font path and you will get this link:
http://www.xfree86.org/current/fonts2.html

Then compare the output of xset q run under your account vs the other users
account.

$ xset q
 -Ron

Subject: [gridengine users] Qmon not launching

I am having trouble launching qmon. I get the following errors:

-> ~ 74> qmon

to type FontStruct

Warning: Cannot convert string "-adobe-courier-medium-r-*--12-*-*-*-m-*-*-*" to

  Major opcode of failed request: 45 (X_OpenFont)
  Serial number of failed request: 534
  Current serial number in output stream: 545

Other users on the same machine are able to launch it so it must be some
environment/pathing issue for my user.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Justin
