Thanks Reuti. I think that's probably it - I had some left over stuff from a
previous GE installation.
I will correct and test it later and will post my findings.

I don't recall defining one, but I am also not sure how to double check other with
"-sconf".
# qconf -sconf | grep user_lists
user_lists none
xuser_lists none
I am seeing some weird errors which may be related to this?

uses old GDI version 6.2u5 while qmaster uses newer version 8.1.1
Are you running different versions of SGE, SoGE and GE on the machines?
