Oh I have not tried that yet ... here is what I had been trying :
root@solexa1:/gridware/sge# ./inst_sge
Architecture UNSUPPORTED-lx3.8.0-25-generic-amd64 not supported by
this procedure!
So now if I try the one you suggested ...
root@solexa1:~# export SGE_ROOT=/gridware/sge
root@solexa1:~# /gridware/sge/default/common/sgeexecd start
can't determine path to Grid Engine utility binaries
Note that the only binaries in there are for the 2.4 kernel and my
Ubuntu box runs 3.8.
HOwever all my RHEL boxes are running a 2.6 kernel and that seems to
be OK with the 2.4 binaries
The symlinks below were all created by me in trying to sort this out.
All that was there originally were the 'lx24' directories and the
shell script.
