I'd like to try it out to see how the old blue looks on the new design, then. It'd also be a lot less design work switching to a new logo that is the same color (since the website also has the same blue for its accent color.)

On one hand, I really like the old Groovy logo for screaming "Groovy!", but I can also see why the old logo might be a hindering for new adapters.

I think it is worth having a discussion, and your suggestion is a good step on the way. I can see, that you have put thoughts into this.

My biggest gripe about your current proposal is the choice of colors, as I am really fond of the blue color in the current Groovy logo.

I've designed and would like to propose an alternate logo for Groovy. It's a very nice programming
language that satisfies all of my gripes with Java, but the logo gave me a bit of pause when deciding
whether or not to learn it. Having spent some time with the language, the current logo is charming,
and definitely screams 'groovy!' but I don't feel it translates well into an icon (for things like
IDEs) and I feel it's also a bit jagged (the lines feel a bit too thick, for example.)

I've attached a PDF with my design. I can tweak it if you'd like, and I really don't mind criticism
(so long as it is constructive.) I like designing things, but I am by no means a professional designer.

I'm not sure what terms would be necessary for this to become the new project logo, but if anyone does,
please let me know. I also don't expect this to replace the project logo, since people tend to grow
attached to them and I myself have been frustrated at redesigns like this.
