Did you get yourself signed up to info-ingres?  You will find you have a
bigger audience and you'll get better technical advice than what I can
give.

What sort of calendar conversion are you doing?
What client software are you using?

Thank you for your explanations.
by telling that i can use Java functions inside Derby , i did not
intended to tell that Ingres should have this feature.
I just asked that whether Ingres has such feature that allow users to
add UDF (user defined function) to database or not . For example , I
should convert all dates to some other calendar system before i send
them to front end , so i need some facilities which allows me to write
and use that function.
In derby we can do this by Java programming language.
In Ingres , another member said , we can do it by using some internal
sql .
