I have been looking into the benefits of IPv6 compared to IPv4 and have
found your article "The case for IPv6" very helpfull, I still have
several questions that I need answers for, could you please help me on
the following:-
1) If we have been testing IPv6 since 1998 when is it going to be
implemented on a global basis?, especially, when do we think the big
telecommunication firms will begin to implement the Protocol?.
2) What has the reaction been like from the big Telecom companies?, are
any of these companies using IPv6 in their backbone?, and if so which
ones?
3) What are the benefits for the big telecom cos to change from ATM to
IPv6?
4) What are the costs of implementing IPv6? per router/network?
5) Are there any of the big companies sponsoring the product?, i.e. cos
which have implemented and are incouraging others to do so as well, if
so what cos are sponsoring this?
