Hello,
I have few computers and a laptop on the same LAN.
The laptop is connected to the LAN wirelessly via an
access point. All computers are running with
Linux2.4.1 and IPv6 enagled. The laptop is able to
talk to other hosts via IPv4, but not via IPv6.
I'm using the 3Com AirConnect Access Point operating
as a local
bridge and my laptop is talking to Access point via
Lucent Wavelan.
>From my laptop, I try ping another IPv6 host:
> ping6 3ffe:1900:7777:1:201:........
but it returns :
From ::1: Destination unreachable: Address
unreachable
Using 'tcpdump ipv6 -t ', i see the following:
eth0 > 0:0:0:0:0:0 0:2:2d:0:24:36 ipv6 86:

Ping the other host's IPv4's address presents no
problem.
I then tried using the same laptop but switched the
wireless wavelan card with a wired connection and it
was able to ping to other IPv6 hosts.
Initially, I thought the problem may be that Access
point does not recognized IPv6 packets, but then I
realized it shouldn't matter to the access point
whether its a IPv4 packet or IPv6 packet since it's a
link layer technology.
Has anyone encounter similar problem working with
wireless IPv6? I would greatly appreciate if someone
can give me some hint or direct me to appropriate
source.
