My apologies if this isn't the proper forum for this. Hopefully, though,
someone will find it useful. The script "ifconfig.sh" (in <top level BIND
source directory>/bin/tests/system) is used to set up several virtual
interfaces for use in testing BIND after compilation. As of BIND 9.1.1rc2,
this script doesn't work for Solaris 8 (Intel). Also, it doesn't do exactly
what it's supposed to do for Solaris 8 (Sparc) when bringing down the
virtual interfaces.

The following patch fixes these issues. These changes have been submitted to
the maintainers of the BIND code and will be rolled into the next release
(they didn't make it into 9.1.1).
