Check the console. I tried yesterday without specifying the prefix
length, and got a warning on the console about a prefixlength that
wasn't 128. I'm not sure you can use prefix lengths of other than 128
on your tunnel. I'm running FreeBSD 4.4-RELEASE, BTW. What are you
running?

I saw something in the source code about bidirectional tunnel support,
I'm not sure what that means.

Well, you could set up your tunnel as a /128, then add a route for the
/127.
