Thanks, Martin and Oscar. Martin... your patch ended up with <repositories> element twice; not sure if that was legal, anyway I combined them.
Oscar... I think your issue must be from using the Eclipse compiler with Java 8, and it not correctly honouring the declared version of Java (7) in our poms. Nevertheless, have changed the archetypes to not use wildcards (eg java.util.*) so this issue should hopefully go away. ~~~ I've just pushed an updated archetype, so if you could give it another go, I'd appreciate it.
