自己レスです。 LibreOfficeを削除し、OpenOffice4.1.0を入れてみました所、 何の問題もなく対象ファイルの編集ができました。 ウイルスチェッカもそのまま問題なく動作しておりますので、 やはり、LibreOffice固有の問題だと思います。
