Hi Sandro,
On my second visit , I downloaded the Standard Edition of JCRBrowser. The readmefirst.txt clearly mentions to install the jcr browser as eclipse plugin. I do not see any instructions to use this tool outside Eclipse. I am Netbeans user and can use it either inside Netbeans or as a standalone application .
Is it possible either way ?

Appreciate your response,
Ruchi

Hi Ruchi,

you can just download the JCRBrowser Standard Edition from
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=154841
and follow the instructions in the ReadMeFirst.txt file.
Section 2.1 explains the configuration you need (Connection to a
local Jackrabbit Repository [model 1]). Just be sure that your
Java program is not running while you try to login to the repository
with the JCRBrowser.
Even though the configuration is not really complex the
description is quite short. So if there are any open aspects
because of the short description - please don't hesitate to
ask. Any feedback is welcome. Enjoy,

Sandro

Hi Ruchi,

yes, the JCRBrowser is an Eclipse plugin and thus works only within Eclipse or within jLibrary. But if there are times when your Java program does not lock the repository the JCRBrowser
can also access it via the filesystem.

I am a novice to JSR170 world. Can you point me to instructions where I can use this repository browser to explore the content created by sample java program. Actually, this sample java program are the Jackrabbit samples Hopper programs . I have the content created in the repository , but it stores the content in non human readable form. Can I not navigate the repository for the created content , without reading the content back progammatically.

Thanks in advance,
Ruchi

Ciao,

Sandro

I think it currently can only be run within Eclipse or jLibrary. But you can
contact with the developer and ask him directly (
http://sourceforge.net/users/sandro_boehme/).

Thanks. But does it get integrated only in eclipse or jlibrary ? If I
have my own simple java program which creates repository using
Jackrabbit, can I use this browser to explore my content ?

Thanks,
