how does jackrabbit/lucene recreate the indices on delete and restart.
I have heard it being said that if your indices get corrupted then all
u do is stop repository, delete the index folder and start repository.
lucene will re-index and recreate the pointers.
does lucene actually walk through the tree of my workspace and grab
all the information from scratch to create the index?
Yes. When a Jackrabbit repository starts up it checks whether the
index directory (one per workspace) exists. If the index doesn't
exist, then it is recreated by traversing and indexing the entire
contents of the workspace.
