I modified the populate.jsp and made it to be able to import a single file by specifying a url.
It can be used like this: http://myhost:8080/jackrabbit/import.jsp?url=http://somewhere.com/a.pdf It could be convenient for some testing. Please take a try and let me know if it works for you.
