Maria - how many triples will be stored?

You could try comparing BSBM results - I /think/ SDB was tested at one time, not sure SDB and TDB were tested in the same version.

You could also explain the support situation to your project lead.

TDB IS much faster. I was even warned, in particular, that of the relational

done two benchmarks over the past year. One compared TDB with SDB/MySQL, the
other compared TDB with SDB/Postgres. But I never did a comparison of MySQL and
Postgres. Unfortunately, none of my results have been published. The
performance we got with the two SDB configurations were deemed completely
unusable due to the performance. Share this email with your project head,
making him aware of the issues. Much of your work will be the same, regardless
of which configuration you use. But there will definitely be some time wasted
for the configuration you choose not to use.

Thanks David for replying. I also think that TDB should be faster than SDB.
But are there any publications for the same. Actually, I need to convey this
information to my project head and he would not believe me...until and unless I
show him these results published somewhere. (I hope you understand
:) and thanks again I think you have saved a lot of my effort which I would
have spent on SDB).

Cheers,

Jena does support Postgres, you need to define an assembler file that
establishes the connection info for it and you need to have the
appropriate jars, etc. I'll warn you though, I did some benchmarks
using Jena with Postgres and the performance was pretty bad, using TDB
was orders of magnitude faster.
