Basically what I'd like to try is connecting to the database without the
overhead of HTTP requests (right now I'm sending HTTP requests to

Is there any way to do this? It looks like this could be possible with
Java only, so I was wondering if there were any bindings for other
languages such as PHP or Python?
You of course don't need to have a Jena-app, if you only need to query
Fuseki.
Don't know still exactly if this perhaps helps, only as an example: In
Fuseki downloads there must be a ruby-code (s-query or similar) for
command line. Once i manipulated this thing a bit and called it in a
XMLHttpRequest to a Apache Server, where the manipulated ruby-code sent
the query to Fuseki, runs smoothly. (But the response is then of course
handled in client-javascript.)
