For me I have to normally kill smsbox first, only then bearerbox would shutdown properly. Sometimes that doesn't even work. Fortunately, I just use cygwin to do limited testing on kannel :D

If you search backwards in the archives I had a couple conversations regarding the clean termination of bearerbox and wapbox on cygwin. The consensus was that cygwin's pthread implmentation was quite complete, or that the thread communication was a little off. Does anyone know if progress has been made on this front? Because of this issue I have left them running in shells instead of installing it as a service - it was a real pain to bring the programs down when they were owned by the system. I have been using 1.3.1 for over six months I think quite happily on cygwin.

yes. but you need to install cygwin also.

however, kannel seems to be unstable on windows. the smsbox exits many

times without warning.

i used it on a windows machine for internal tests but deployed it on a

linux machine for production.

also you get less performance as kannel runs on top of cygwin layer.
