Sorry but I can't provide you with a working conf file: I never set up
kannel personally. But I used the modems I told about (MC35, GM29 and Wismo)
and the only thing I can say is that the Siemens modem is the one that
complies with the ETSI standard at best (except for some little bugs).
The hw/sw handshake can be enabled/disabled with the following commands:
AT\Q0 disables flow control
AT\Q1 enables XON/XOFF (i.e. software) flow control
AT\Q2 only CTS by DCE
AT\Q3 enables RTS/CTS (i.e., hardware) flow control
I **think** the following entry should work for MC35:
group = modems
id = siemens_mc35
name = "Siemens MC35"
detect-string = "SIEMENS" # response to AT+CGMM command
detect-string2 = "MC35" # response to AT+CGMI command
init-string = "AT+CNMI=1,2,0,0,1"
speed = 57600
enable-hwhs = "AT\\Q3" # notice the doubled slash, due to the conf
file syntax.
# need-sleep = true # uncomment this line if needed
It's quite the same for TC35 (I don't know if need_sleep needs to be true or
can be set to false). Notice that the "AT+CNMI=1,2,0,0,1" string works
surely in phase2+ compatible mode (e.g., the "AT+CSMS=1" string is sent to
the modem by kannel). I don't know whether it works in phase2 mode (e.g.,
"AT+CSMS=0"). Up to you to try.
Cheers,
Pierluigi.
