PPG sends push notification to the phone packed into a short message, so sms-c (and a protocol to connect
to it) is necessary. And, to clarify things, MMS-C uses PPG to send mms notifications to the phone.

I have some question, Is it neccessary to connect the PPG to an SMS-C or an MMS-C to send push alerts? Can I send push alerts to a phone only with the PPG without using an SMS-C or MMS-C? How?
