I had the same problem and reported on this matter in March of this
year. I even filed a bug report. However, as nobody else responded and
the bug report is still open I got the idea it was something caused by
my implementation. I re-installed kannel several times but always ended
up with the same problem. Therefore, after a while I switched back to
the 1.2.1 version which did not show this "problem".
I hope someone will respond this time as it is an annoying matter.

PS. At the time smsbox hangs, i found this strange message in
kannel.log :

with load value 0 received
What does this message mean ?
