I was given to understand that a company called AllisBlue http://www.allisblue.com was recently granted an European patent on 'Process of transferring Data being stored in a DB' which effectively as detailed by the doc amounts to 'Sending information to mobile phones in response to a request' .( See draft at www.allisblue.com/legal/brevet_UE.pdf)
Has anybody got further information in this? Considering most Kannel Users use Kannel as an SMS GW, it would definitely mean sending an SMS in response to a request..on mobile.. how would this patent effect the/their rights? What implications does this have on the mobile (SMS) application industry in general?? This might be off topic, but thought this would be the best place to discuss this. Regards, Bipin
