Hello! Unix uses LF (\n) for end of line, MAC CR (\r), DOS both together CR/LF (\r\n). I don't know which of these characters causes your problem, and what is needed on phones. I think simply translate the other to anything else or nothing. In sms I don't see a big reason sending them.

Yes, I really need a new line for display purposes. Is this CR/LF
at the beginning or end of the last segment of a split message
a known issue? Can I simply remove all LFs keeping the CRs?
