Hello Richard, if your own apps talk SMPP (client), you'll need a commercially available add-on to Kannel, tu turn it into an SMPP server. Several people on this list offer their smpp addons for licensing. If you don't have that addon, you can only feed messages into Kannel by HTTP or SQL (sqlbox), and have kannel relay them with its own SMPP client to the carrier.
