No, for real: you don't need those things. They have the same value as
the MT.
Now think about that: kannel does "speak" a lot of sms protocols. If
it would transfer thinks like the SMPP delivery state, I would have to
write a DLR script for SMPP, one for UCP and another one for SM/ASI,
CIMD... So this is really not a bug but a feature!
