"No SSL Support" ? I'm not sure about how would this affect OMA, but you could try recompiling Kannel with SSL support and see if it helps.
SSL support is compiled by default if you have the proper libraries, check on the SSL section while running ./configure, you may need to add libssl/libssl-devel to your server.
