Hi All, I have successfully compiled, installed and run kannel as root. I would now like to be able to run kannel as a non privileged user as well as being able to manage (start, stop etc) kannel from other arbitrary user accounts. I realise this is more of a linux admin type question but I hope someone here can assist with best practices.
I have created a group called kannel and changed all the associated files to be a member of that group as well as the permission on the files/directories to have the correct read, write, execute permissions. The problem is when I restart the daemon as a user (assuming I have forced the .store file and its backup to be a member of the kannel group) the .store file gets recreated as the users and in the users group with only the user having read/write permission. Is it possible to configure kannel/linux such that any user can manage the kannel service? Thanks, Jarrod
